Religión Confidencial - Following the petition started by a group of priests (some from Toledo) against the “Fiducia Supplicans” Declaration of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, the archbishop of Toledo Francisco Cerro and his auxiliary bishop, Francisco César García Magán , they addressed a writing to all the priests of the archdiocese inviting them to "maintain our ecclesial communion with Jesus Christ, which passes through communion with the Successor of Peter".
Cerro and García Magán, offered some orientations «with the intention that they contribute to reading the document in that hermeneutics of “reform in continuity” and that allow us to maintain our ecclesial communion with Jesus Christ, which passes through communion with Successor of Peter".
After recalling that "the document of the Doctrine of the Faith participates in the ordinary Magisterium of the Pope, having the signature of the Supreme Pontiff", the bishops of Toledo explain that "the type of document chosen, as a 'declaration', places it in the line of " other authorized interventions which do not intend to propose new truths of faith, but rather to recall perennial questions, if necessary updating some ecclesial practice that allows the deposit received in Revelation to be safeguarded".
